Threatening Civil Court Action

My elderly father received two calls from these purps indicating they were looking for me regarding a civil action which added worry to him. I have since told him to indicate to the "investigator" calling that he is now taping the call.
I called the number back and asked several times what the call was regarding and who they were. The woman on the other end indicated that they had "several departments" and that she would connect me with the appropriate department. Never did they identify themselves after several requests from me. Finally, the "thug" indicated that this was regarding a 1999 account sent to collections.
I told them that this was beyond the statue, which he denied and said this was "an actionable event" and that they would be "seeking legal action against me to collect."
At that point, I told them I was recording the call. Finally, things went down hill and this thug became abrasive but just short of threatening.
