Dont get scammed! Beware!

I looked into a loan modification since my home loan was for 160K and my home is only worth 110K. I dealt with Eric with 1st American Law Center who said I qualified for the Home Loan Modification Program which would lower my mortgage from $1,360 to under $800 a month. Eric told me that BOA was one of the only banks who would take 30% off of my loan amount and I was promised that my interest rate would be around 2.125 % for a 30 yr. Fixed. I have not missed any payments to BOA and in my 2nd year of my 6% 30 yr. Fixed loan. I was told there would be a fee of $3495 and asked if qualified how would I pay. I told Eric that I would have to miss my mortgage payment if I had to pay and he said that's what customers usually do... Eric had an email sent to me by Megan Iverson Miverson@1stamericanlawcenter.com) which said this: (with a retainer to sign for I hereby authorize 1st American Law Center to charge my bank account in the amount of: $1747.50 on 2 seperate date. When I told Eric that I need to look and read the documents before signing he told me that i couldn't view the attahment but if I initialed electronically he would send me the terms in which I agreed to with the 3 day right to recision. I informed him that I was able to view the documents and would not sign until I did more research about complaints that may have been filed. He snickered and said well ya, we did have maybe 8 complaints filed with the BBB out of 10,000 modifications and that they had an A standing with the BBB. THIS IS A LIE!!! They have an F rating with the BBB so DO NOT use this company.
