I have been getting calls from them for the past six months. This is how I stopped their calls: 1. I was nice to the representative and made sure that she provided me with (1) the check number (2) date it was written (3) merchant name (4) amount (5) last four of checking account number and (6) bank name, name on the check 2. Then I told her that I needed to contact the local police department to file a police report. I asked to be provided with a copy of the check to present to the police department as well as a fax number for HPC. (904 418 5051) 3. Verified that the mailing address for HPC is PO Box 57355, Jacksonville, FL 32241.4. Verified that Noel Pooler and Gary Henrion are the registered agents for the company. 5. Verified that H P Capital aka HPC is a ficticious name with florida registration number: P08000093357 and their EIN was 26-3533738. I told the rep that I needed to verify all this information to ensure proper notification and prosecution for this check that I did not write. Next thing you know I was told that this debt is now in dispute and I will not be contacted again. Furthermore, I followed up with a faxed letter informing them that the statute of limitations in virginia for bad checks is 5 years which meant they were four years too late!
