BB&T Bank
Unfair Overdraft Fee Practices

I have been banking with BB&T for 3 years.in that time, I have had a few problems, but mostly self generated. I DO NOT have a practice of overdrafting (OD) my account, I can say it has probably been over a years since I was hit with an OD charge.
Yesterday, I had $94 dollars in my account (this was ACTUAL POSTED balance) and -$2 in my AVAILABLE balance. Fine, I was getting paid today so I thought I could deposit money and all would be good today.
I looked at my balance on-line this morning to see a -$63 ACTUAL POSTED for my account. I see that only $57 posted overnight, so I am confused why I was hit with an OD charge of $100 (4 transactions X $25 each).
I called the local branch, to which I am told the OD is because I had PENDING transactions that we on HOLD, but not yet POSTED to my account. These were what resulted in my OD charges. I debated the issue with the "Relationship Banker" stating that the PENDING card transactions are no different that PENDING checks that haven't yet POSTED; customers aren't even given an opportunity to make a deposit before their account is actually OD.
The best part of this... About a year ago, when I had my last OD charge, I had a PENDING direct deposit check showing in my available balance and was scheduled to POST the next day. I had a transaction post that night that OD my actual POSTED balance and resulted in a fee. Since the DD was PENDING, not POSTED, they wouldn't refund my fee.
Sorry for the length of this report, but I am livid over this and seeking a new bank effective immediately. I hope others read this and flee this bank. Thanks.
