AT&T Universal Card - Citibank
Rips off Consumers with Rate Hike, Not allowing to Opt out of Change

Citibank is ripping off their good customers. I have had my card for about 10 years. I have never been late. I logged into their site on 01/04 to schedule my payment, when I noticed my payment doubled.
I immediately contacted their customer support. Was advised then by one of their reps that my terms changed, and I should have received something in my mail. They told me that my interest rate doubled. I never got a letter. I have my statements come to my email, due to problems in the past with getting my mail.
I never received an email about this change in terms, nor was it on their web site. I was unknowing that I could have opted out. I requested to opt out, they advised me, that on that notice that I only had 25 days to opt out, and I was out of luck. That is not right, because they even advised me that they received a mail return on my account 11/30. The funny thing is I am at the same address I have always been at!
All I want to do is opt out, and close my account. They are not allowing me.
I have gotten nothing but a run around & told several different things.
One rep told me the date to opt out was 11/29, another on told me 12/17.
I just want the same option that all the other cardholders had.
Do not do business with Citibank!!
