Early termination fee charged without a contract

Direct tv added 3oo dollars to my bill for early termination fees and we did not have a contract they could not furnish us with any paperwork and refused to credit my Verizon telephone bill they hung the phone up in my ear and I am so furious I don't know what to do i do not know how this company can get away with their deceptive practices which are fraudulent
