Preyed on desperate people with False promises

Stillwater Equity Group approved us first for a $10,000 loan. We agreed to pay $1,200 for collateral that would be put towards the balance of the loan. They called back to advise that due to our credit score we needed to pay an additional $1,200. We did. At the last minute they advised that the lender backed out of the contact. They were going to sue the lender for breach of contract. At that time they said that they had another lender willing to lend to us. The lowest amount they would lend is $20,000. David Ward (Supervisor) advised that their CEO had made the arrangements because they never had this happen before. The catch was that they needed an additional $2,400 to secure the loan. Of course because we were desperate we were able to scrape up the $2,400 to send to them. Low and behold we got a call from David advising they needed an additional $3,000. At that time we came to our senses and cancelled the loan. To-date we are out $7,800 plus the cost of wiring the money. Was this a stupid move by us? YES. Unfortunately desperation makes you make stupid decisions. All I want is my money back. Please help!
