Insight Financial Credit Union
Bell Tell Credit Union Charging NSF fees when there are no bounced checks - DID NOT SPEND OVER AVAILABLE FUNDS

Business & Finance

I had a balance of $71.73 with no pending checks or transactions.
Using my debit card I spent 35.25,9.37,22.06 - with no other pending transactions or checks. My available balance should have been $5.05.
The Credit Union charged me an overdraft fee for each of the above transactions totalling 96 dollars - making my new balance negative $90.95.
Any way you do the math this does not make any sense. - Even if you put the fees back I would have had a positive balance. The negative balance does not even equal the fees.
The unfortunate thing is that I live out of state and can't go in person to the branch to debate the matter. I can't close the account because I am paying off a loan with them that comes out automatically. I feel helpless and certainly could not afford to throw away $100 dollars right around the holiday. I was dilligent with the amount that I had in my account ensuring I did not overspend - so it is even harder to find help on the internet because all the sites are about people who have legitimate overdrafts.
