First Consumers National Bank
Holds Payments That Come In Close To Late Fee, refuse to accept electronic payment Date, NY & Omaha, NE Nebraska

Business & Finance

My bill payment service mailed my payment, due on 6th of the month, on the 2nd day of the month. All other payments mailed the same day posted to my other accounts on the 5th. On the 7th of the month First Consumers National Bank posted a late fee and and as of the 11th still had not posted my payment.

On my other First Consumers National Bank account, my bill payment service mailed my payment, due on 7th of the month, on the 3rd day of the month. As mentioned above, all other payments mailed the same day posted to my other accounts on the 6th. On the 8th of the month First Consumers National Bank posted a late fee and on the 9th posted my payment. This happened both in June and July.

They also refuse to accept electronic payment. They require that all payments be made via paper check. If they accepted electronic payment, they would be required to post it no later than the next day, and the practice of posting payment late would have to be discontinued. The easy way to cause them to discontinue this practice was to pay my bill in full, which I have done.
