Another one bites the dust-i was ripped off

On or around June 18th I was contacted by Max Woods from First Approval Benefits who assured me I could re-build my credit with their company.
I was hesitant to give my information out over the phone, but he assured me he already had it (I had just recently opened a checking account) and that he only needed verification.
He also stated the card required a DEPOSIT of $299.00 to secure my 2 credit cards with a limit of up to $2,000. He then put me on the line with Vanessa whe recorded our call to confirm all the information. They transaction would take place on 6-27-03. I wasn't really confortable with this so I declined.
Assured that I was missing the opportunity of a lifetime... The call was terminated. However, on June 27th, $299.00 was taken from my account. I am IRRATE at myself and this fraudulent company. It is Saturday, the bank is closed and the 1-866 number Max gave me is simply a message phone. I have left a few choice messages with them. Then I found this site on the internet... Sure wish I had looked sooner.
Monday I will be contacting any and every instituion (Law Enforcement and the Bank) and attempting to get my money refunded. There may be hope!
