Did a FHA 203K Loan through Home America Mortgage (Taylor, Bean and Whitaker acquired). My loan officer was a shady as could be. She told me they had to hire a contractor who has worked with the company for some time as he was licensed and insured. This was the federal requirements of the loan. It turned out that this guy was not licensed nor insured at the time we signed the contract. He had not even worked for the company before and turned out to be a friend of the loan officer. To this date (I closed in Feb) we have gotten no repairs completed and the loan officer has orchestrated for her friend the contractor to be paid all the money with the excuse that it was needed to complete the job and now both individuals cannot be contacted. I have spoken to Taylor bean about this but that correspondence was terminated ever since they got investigated by the Federal gov't. So no one is answering the phones and I am extremely disappointed. I would never recommend that loan officer to anyone. Not even my enemies.
