My husband sent in a check for $179 and when I looked at the letter, saw it was a scam, because I knew the County did this for free! I immediately called them and a very nice person said no problem, just mail them copies of required documents, which I did. It has now 6 months and 4 calls, always the same story! Polite, young person answers, and assures us only 2 weeks and we will receive our refund! I am now getting aggressive! Does anyone know if there is a government agency that handles these kinds of scams? I will also report to BBB!
