Rubin & Rothman, LLC Aka Household Finance Corporation clouded accounting, unethical harassment tactics victimized many consumers

I too have had the unpleasant expierence of dealing with Husehold Finance Corporation, Rubin & Rothman, LLC. And their attack dog, Jackie Evens. I pay my bills every month religiuosly.in August I fell behind. My account was instantly turned over to the legal firm of Rubin & Rothman, LLC. I was threatened to make payments I knew I could not afford. I had a two year old and was due to give birth to twins in November so we were losing an income due to my husband staying home with our children. I authorized Rubin & Rothman, LLC to make direct debits from my checking account monthly.

In November on top of everything else I had a payroll check returned so when they tried to process the payment it was returned to them. I called right away as soon as I was made aware of the situation and was told by Ms. Evans that she would "never except a check from someone like me again!" "The check was returned five times", "I am placing a Judgement against you right now if you can't pay your balance", "you owe my client a lot of money and I want it paid today". Low and behold she seized my bank accounts... All of them.

Here I was trying to be an honest person and offer another alternative to the situation that my employment had created, I had two brand new babies a two year old and husband to feed and no bank account! I called Ms. Evans in tears and her response was "I have the right to do that because you owe my client a lot of money"..."I placing a judgement against you and I am notifing your employer to start wage garnishments".

I have now been making my paymants to the scheriff's office and have a Judgement on my credit report. I called this morning to request a statment of my account only to find that nothing has changed and no one can explain why??? Again... Ms. Evens gets on the phone with her horse voice as if she's just smoked a carton of Pall Malls in an hour and lets me know that I have not been paying enough and would you know it, after eight months of not speaking to her she just so happens to be working on my file and is getting ready to send another garnishment to my employer.

I was so distraut that I asked to speak to her manager and was forwarded to a co-worker who informed me that her manager was too busy to accept my call and if I had a complaint to send it in writing. Well Ms. Martin... Here it is!!!
