Comany called me about a payday loan and if i didnt pay by a certain time i would be arrested so i made payment arrangements with them... Now the real company is calling me

A man with an Indian accent called me at work and knew everything about me, name, address of job, and social security number stating that he was from an ageny seeking payment from a payday loan. He told me I would be arrested and end up paying more money than I owed. I was not able to but he made arrangements and for the next couple of months like clockwork I was paying. Now here it is in september and the real company is calling me and they are not sympathetic to the fact that I thought I settled the issue already.
