Ripoff ripoff business from hell

I've been trying to get rid of this company for two years. I got the letter in the mail promising that if i signed up that i could rebuild my credit. Being a single mom with no credit i signed up, hell what was there to lose. Well a lot. I thought about it and then called to check my account to see if they had taken any money out yet, they didn't so i called to cancel. They told me that they allready got the money out and since it was allready done i couldn't cancel until i paid the benifit fees. What benifit fees?

They expalained to me that with the intitial membership fee there would be 3 debits of 49.99 each within the next 3 months. I told them i didn't want the benifits but was informed that i allready signed up for them. So i paid out a total of 248.97. Well a year went by and i didn't hear from them, so i figured it was over. Yeah right!

I move to a differant apt. And the lady that moved into my old one brought me over a stack of mail that she kept getting in her mailbox, one being from ccs. I didn't open it until i found out my checking account was overdrawn in the amount of 99.00.

I found out it was from them, so i called and told them i didn't give them permission to renew my account and i want a refund. They told me i should have got a letter informing me that it the membership was gonna be up and i had 30 days to cancel in writing if i didn't want part of them. Well i opened the letter and the date on it was not 30 days it was 2 weeks.

So i closed my checking account before they would do it again. I'm now getting bills everymonth for 149.97 with $20.00 late fees which now my balance is $283.97 that i refuse to pay. I've tried calling them again to make a payment plan with them just to get it paid off and get it done with so i can cancel. But nobody answers i leave a message and never get a responce. I have gone broke because of them. Please let me know what i can do to get rid of them, i know that it's gonna mess up my credit, and i really can't afford that.
