New $6 Fee for Paying Home Loan Online on Time

Just learned today that Bank of America/Countrywide now charges $6.00 to make an on-time payment on the Web. Used to be that you could pay on time for no charge. Now it's $6.00 unless you want to use autopay and pay 20 days or so in advance. (Loan is due 09.25.09, for example, and BAC requires you to pay between 09.01.09-09.05.09 via autopay if you want to avoid the charge.) The only other way to avoid the charge is the old fashioned way - send them a check on time. This is outrageous and I believe it was done with no notice to the customers. I pay my home loan and HELOC on time every month and have done so for years. But it doesn't matter. These charges, along with the overdraft scam, must be stopped! Help!
