Bogus charges on my credit card with ZERO balance

I had a Circuit city charge card run by Chase, I made a purchase on 12 month no interest and paid off the purchase in full in 7 months, leaving a ZERO balance and apparently if you don't make a payment, even if the balance is zero. Chase charges you a late fee of $35.00. I called them thinking this a no brainer... I talked to what I thought was the rudest most arrogant customer service rep and was told there was a late fee accessed and there was nothing she could do, I just had to pay it. I refused! She left me with several threats about ruining my credit and that she was closing the account. I was steamed and told her great close it with the hope of closing it that end the fee BS and big deal $35.00 on my credit report. WRONG, they continued billing for late fees and interest on a ZERO balance. I called again and this time talked to the absolute most outrageous person. I explained the situation and was told once again I owed it and there was nothing they could do, Just pay it! When I objected, I was threatened once again and told this person was going to ruin my credit, I was called names when I asked to speak to her supervisor and was put on hold for several minutes and then told she had FULL authority of Chase and I would pay or else. I then received a letter from Chase explaining I was extremely delinquent and was to contact them immediately. I did and I just wanted this over, I explained once again the dilemma and the lady said the best she could do was to knock off 1 late fee... I paid the amount to end the turmoil, They had just wore me down and the amounts were accumulating rapidly...
