Being punished for 15 years of paying my credit card off on time

I have had a Bank of America Visa card since 1995. Up until this morning, my limit was $18000 & I never had a problem with them. I received a call from them out of the blue today, telling me they wanted to drop my credit line from $17,900 all the way down to $500. That's not a mistake, YOU READ IT CORRECTLY! From $17,900 all the way down to $500 stinkin' dollars. WHAT THE F#@%!!!?? That's what the line was when it opened in 1995!! An 18 year old can get more. They said that because I'm DISABLED, & based on my income (social security), I didn't deserve the good credit I've spent all this time building!!! All these years of paying my bills on time & being responsible meant NOTHING to them. POOF, My credit line was GONE, just like that! I did, however, speak to a supervisor, & get it raised back to $12000. He said they lowered my limit because I wasn't using it enough. I suppose in the eyes of BANK OF AMERICA, anyone who is smart enough to stay out of debt is NOT CREDIT WORTHY. Any way you look at it, even at $12000 limit, they just stole A FULL THIRD OF MY CREDIT LINE, with no prior warning or excuse. I would warn anyone who does business with these people, especially the DISABLED & ELDERLY, to watch your back. These people will screw you, as well. I spent 15 YEARS BUILDING MY CREDIT WITH THIS COMPANY, without a single blemish. I guess if you're not out DIGGING A GRAVE OF DEBT FOR YOURSELF, they don't want you!
