Mortgage Modification Scam

Winberg and Associates is a fraudulent company with a fictious name. The Attorney General of Florida has filed a lawsuit against them for unfair trade practices.

The company lures you in with promises to modify your current mortgage. They demand a nearly $2,000 up front fee to handle everything with your mortgage lender. They tell you stop paying your mortgage. Unfortunatley my husband listened to them and now his investment property is in foreclosure and the company has not helped one bit. We contacted me to get our money back. My husband even went to the company and met with on the head men and still they wouldn't budge. Luckily, we paid with our credit card, so I filed a dispute with my credit card company and they were able to get our money back for us.

Please be aware of any loan modification companies that require an up front fee. It is illegal to charge any money. If you want to modify your mortgage, you should call your mortgage company directly and they will have the information for you there to fill out. Don't be scammed in this desperate economy!
