When you try to pay your credit card balance off early

I tried to pay off my remaining balance of my credit card that was provided from The College Loan Corporation. I sent them a 170 dollar money order in april, when they cashed it, they only credited my account 10 dollars. I called and they wanted a copy of the canceled money order that, they cashed, so i had to pay 15 dollars to recieve a copy of the canceled money order. I faxed everything over to them at the end of april, and was told it would take 2 to 3 weeks to process. I called back 3 weeks later and i was told that it could take up to a month, so i gave it another week and called, and it still hasnt been reviewed, and i am being charged interest charges for 2 months, when i could have had the whole remaining balance paid off by now, this has been a very frustrating situation, because whenever i call to ask about my account, i am given a run around about why it has not been taking care of
