Why should the government help Bank of America when they don't help the consumer

To Whom It May Concern,
I initially contacted Bank of America last week and followed up on 02-25-09 because my initial request was not resolved. The problem is, I've been an outstanding customer with them for many years. I have never been late on my payments; I have always paid more than the minimum due, even when I was umeployed for 19 months.initially, I contacted them because I want to pay less than the minium for the months of March and May. The representative stated, "there was nothing they could do".

However, she did offer for me to take out a loan which I was declined because she stated that I would only have $1.00 left after paying my bills. (How would she know that?) I was so disturbed by her remark and did not want to speak to anyone else that day. Because I didn't want my credit affected, I followed up with a call to Bank of America on 02-25-09. Again, a representative stated that it was nothing they could do except offer me another long term loan which I declined.

I requested copies of my pay history for past three years; the representative told me that I would have to pay $5.00 per copy per month. (which I thought was ridiculous) I then decided to end the call because I could see that there was no help there for me. I was only trying to protect my credit.

If the government is bailing out Bank of America (according to the news media), I would like to know how the money distribution from the government to Bank of America help the consumer? According to Bank of America representative, there is no help for the consumer. I suggest that Bank of America change their policies and procedures to allow money to flow in the economy.

Furthermore, I recommend banks who are receiving the bail out money make adjustments to the current economy situation so people like me (loyal, paying on time customer) and customers at large have a chance also. I feel like this should be addressed, because the President if for the American Families.

WHY SHOULD YOU HELP THE BANKS WHEN THE BANKS WON'T HELP THE CONSUMER THAT'S REALLY TRYING TO PAY THEIR BILLS ON A TIMELY BASES DURING THESE CRITICAL TIMES.? I feel like this should be addressed, because the "President" is for the American Families.
