I did not get a loan but they are trying to get repaid Nationwide

I received several calls from a company leaving a message that it was an important legal matter. I received a call from them this morning and it was a private call. I allowed it to go to voicemail and received a message from someone with a very heavy accent who acknowledged himself as Officer Joseph Neuman with a callback number of 949-468-5105. I called the number back and reached "Joseph". He advised that he needed to verify my information and began reading off my ssn, address, phone number, work info etc. He advised that I got a loan in 2007. I have not received any loans in 2007 and advised him of such as I was unemployed. The rep then became very angry and threatening. Advising that this is a federal issue and that I am going to lose my job if I don't pay. I told him that I will discuss this with the Attorney General and he hung up. I called back to get information on the company and he advised that if I am not going to pay then he is going to hang up.

I called back 1/2 hour later and made up a ridiculous name and he said he pulled up my case file and I owe $1700 but that I could settle it for $500. I gave a phony number and he said he had the info but I needed to verify my address. I gave an address that I know does not exsist and he said that I have to pay $500 today or I will go to jail. When I asked for information on the creditor he said I will find that out once I pay the amount due. He said I will get something in the mail and by email. I told him that if I am paying over the phone I want to record the call and he hung up. I tried calling the number back and when I said hello he kept hanging up.
