This is a ripoff! Do not fall prey to their recruiting ploys

Business & Finance

I was "recruited" through one of the job sites, Monster, etc. I was called and asked to come in for an "interview", which, basically is nothing more than a "cattle call". Anyone positing a resume on a job search site will likely get a call for an "interview". The funny thing is, I was applying for a customer service position; not a sales agent-I have no interest in sales what so ever, AND the really sad part is, I gave up a day of work to sit through this non-sense.

Here is exactly what happens if you go in for their interview. You'll be greeted by the receptionist and asked to fill out a sheet of paper with your personal information, such as your SS# and what make and model your automobile is??? And how much your household income is a month??? How long could I sustain without income, was another question on their form. I was quite skeptical about this and left the info about my car off and also I wouldn't give my SS# (the reason they want this info, is because they say they can not pay you unless you are licensed to sell insurance and that they are not allowed through the company to pay for your licensing because, get this... It would look like they are a recruiting company and not an insurance company).

You are then asked to go into a room, where there are 20 to 30 chairs facing a projector screen. Several people, in my case it was about 10 people started coming in and having a seat. While this was going on, a branch manager and the person presenting the "interview" were having a chat about all of the fabulous places they have been, all expenses paid, of course, through UA!!! The conversation was just loud enough to be heard while these poor people were filing into this room.

The presentation began with, "THIS IS NOT A CATTLE CALL", whoomp!!! RED FLAG!"This is a chance for you to interview us (UA) as a company before we get the chance to interview you", needless to say, I already had my skepticism pegged from the paperwork they asked you to fill out when you first arrived. I sat through the presentation, it was mostly about the MONEY, you can earn and have a better life and how they will show you how to achieve a six figure income a year, if you'll only follow the steps that they've laid out for you, with a (UM) by your side the whole way!!!

Sounds to good to be true??? Well, it is... One gentleman got up and left, when he realized what was going on... Its nothing more than a pyramid scheme. I left after the presentation and can you believe they had enough gall to call me on my cell phone after I walked out and tried to get me to return their call? TOO DESPERATE FOR SUCKERS... Please do not fall for this scam... Just a warning to you... I wish I had found usacomplaints.com before I went to this ridiculous "interview".

Anyway, should you decide to stay, they will bring you in for a private interview and ask you to pay $15 for your application fee for your license and $100 for your training materials... Have you ever heard of such nonsense, oh and the killer is... You don't get a salary or a hourly wage... Its all commission based. Its Crazy and someone should investigate their practices, especially in these tough economic times.
