Genus Aka Care One fraudulent ripoff business

My husband and I decided to find a consumer credit counseling services to get our financial record stabilized. We chose Genus because of the commercials and the testimonials. This was in Aug 1999 and it was only supposed to take three years here we are almost four years later and we are still in the program making a monthly contribution to an non-profit organization which is profiting off us.

We had an account go into collection and did not find out until two months later, and they we still taking the monthly payments from our checking account. According to my statements one of the accounts is paid off yet for the second month Genus has paid it? When I call to ask they tell me those funds were applied to the other remaining accounts, but when I look at the statements from the individual creditors it does not show any extra $. So where is it going. No one has given me a straight answer!

Every time I call I am told that the creditor has not accepted the proposal and am asked if I would like to increase the amount, since that is probably why the creditor is rejecting it. I get a least one call a month from a creditor telling me my payments are late. My record looks horrible years of late payments and delinquent accounts even though my bank statement shows the monthly withdrawls Genus makes from my checking account!
