Fraudulent practices that apply ISF charges to pending transactions before the actual debit happens

Bank of America charged an insuficient funds fee of $35 for a transaction that was pending on 3/04/09. The problem is, my account never showed a negative balance until the actual ISF was charged on 3/06/09. When the ISF was charged the negative balance, that is usually in red did not show up on the main page of my online account. I had to click on two links to see the actual transaction that caused the ISF.
-At the time the transaction was actually applied one day later on 3/05/09, I had $500 in the account.
-On 3/06/09, the insuficient funds fee of $35 showed up on the online statement.
- Called BoA, and they said there policy was changed a year ago, to where they apply ISF charges to pending transactions that remain pending overnight.
This is another way to rob the consumer. Has anyone else had a similar experience? What can we do about it?
