Rate jumped from 7% to 29.99% after payment four days late

Chase Bank has taken over $2,000 from me for 2 months use of a $30,000 balance transfer. That is an APR of about 40%. My mistake? I was late 4 days on my payment. The interest rate went from 7% to 29.99%.

I called them and they would not do anything, no negotiation, absolutely no sympathy. I was shocked that in these hard financial times, they would be so callous. All I wanted was the original rate, 7% restored.

I paid off the $30 K with all my savings. Now I have no cushion for the year. And they get a Billion dollars Bailout?

Shame on Chase.
