Reduce credit card interest rates -no the whole truth

This company called me early evening and I wish I just hung up - a very persistent representative managed to keep me on the phone for over and hour and a half going over and over how they would save me a minimum of $1500.00 and pay off credit card debt 3-5 times faster with negotiating finance charges down on my credit cards. A few days later I called to cancel the services. They had already charged me a fee of $990.00 the same night.

After going through 3 people on the phone they had someone call me back - I said I wanted to cancel the service and why; then clearly told they had 30 days before they can refund the money; that was part of the service - they negotiate your interest rate and have up to 30 days to reduce your rate or refund the money. After a very lengthy discussion the representative tells me, she has to send my request to the review board and I would be contacted in 24-48hrs. No guarantee for a full refund.

During my intense discussion, she told me I only had 48 hrs to rescind or cancel the contract. This was a suprise to me since that was NEVER discussed or mentioned in any way, shape or form. She then proceeded to tell me that this was the consumers responsibility to ask, not theirs to disclose. Needless to say I am still waiting to hear back, I have yet to get anything in the mail and the charge is still on my credit.

They are supposed to be federally regulated... Yet the do NOT fully disclose information as to your rights as the consumer. They cleverly leave out some important information and blame you, the consumer. I will be contacting the BBB of Georgia and in Massachusetts to file a complaint. I agree with the others who have posted their sitiuation on your site about this company. Something has to be done with this company and how they practice ripping off people, but most important lacking in full disclosure.
