Financial Protection Center scams money to negotiate credit card debt

This company snagged me on the telephone with a very hard sell and enthusiastic young man promising that they would save me at least $4000, help me pay off my credit card debt 3-5 times faster, and negotiate finance charges down on my credit card debt by 1/2. When the packet arrived, like others, I thought the company was Financial Health and Fitness, but after contacting them, discovered that the company that had charged $1495 to my credit card was Money Works, from Smyrna, GA. Nowhere in the packet did it describe what Money Works had promised to do for me for my $1495.

I tried numerous times to contact them and was told that I could not get my money back as they have no refund policy, unless they fail to deliver on their (verbal) promises. I wrote to them to ask for my money back and to ask for their promises IN WRITING so that I could proceed if desired. No response. One person told me that they would call me back with more info, but they never called.

I checked with the BBB of Georgia and found that this company has a rating of "F" and is not accredited with them. This does not instill confidence. I do not wish to reveal further personal information to them as they do not appear to be trustworthy. Meanwhile, I wrote a letter and faxed two letters to them, with no response whatsoever.

I have contacted the Attorney General's office in Massachusetts, the BBB in Georgia and now the Secretary of State's office in Mass. As well as the Attorney General of Georgia. My hope is that someone will decide to take up the case of this company so boldly ripping people off for large sums of money. BEWARE this company.
