Direct deposit shown as 389.00, then account went negative

Business & Finance

I have direct deposit that goes in every Thursday morning between 2 and 6 am.

I received a direct deposit of 423 dollars a week before Christmas. On Wednesday night I checked my balance and it showed 11.83. On Thursday morning I checked again and it said I had 389.00. Then, the next day after Christmas, I found out I was negative 267 dollars. I could not believe it. I checked my balance and all my transactions, and they only added up to 421 and some change.

My deposit was for 423.00, so how can this be? They charged me 105 for three transactions. Okay, so that left me 289, right? Wrong. I had made other transactions on Christmas Eve that would have covered those transactions, but I still got charged again, this time for three hundred and some dollars. What a ripoff. My transactions were covered by my direct deposit, but I still got charged.

They told me that if I made a deposit that morning at 11, it would not cover the rest of the items that were on hold. It seems I just paid for the fees and not for the items that I purchased. Their story is, "Well, I'm sorry, there is nothing we can do about it. Learn to use a check registry." I am sorry, but I do use a check registry, and your system gives false information.
