Rip Off On the Emerald Advance, they will sucker you in and you will owe big time!

I went to H&R Block to get the Emerald Advance, this is when they use your last pay check of the year and ESTIMATE what you are going to get back on your taxes and the H&R bank gives you a load to use till they get your money from your taxes. With that said, they said we will get an Estimated 6,000.00 back and they gave us a loan of 900.00.

Well a couple of weeks later I wanted to see what we were going to get back for SURE, so I went to the H&R Block website and used their tax calculater and did the same thing they should have done. And come to find out we will end up only getting back 92.00. Even though they said we will be getting back the 6,000.00. The guy put in the wrong info so that we would get approved for the emerald line of credit, Thats the only logical explanation for it, cause if he had done it right we wouldn't have got a dime for the loan. So now we aren't going to get enough back to pay back the loan part of it.

It is such a rip off. Thay want you to get the loan then when you can't pay it back by the 15th Of FEb. Then they nail you with the 38% interest rate and make more off of you. This can"t be legal!
