Very misleading and deceptive

I went to Mesa Mortgage looking to refi. My home from an ARM to a 30 year fixed. Lenard told me that I would qualify for the lowest rate @4.75. When I told him what I was quoted by my current bank he asked me if I were dealing with the mafia and claimed he too used them for his checking acct. Anyway I asked if I could use any state approved appraiser and he stated that I had to use The Appraisal House inc. And John Bellerose who would make this work at $350 fee. Mr. Bellerose stated that he would need $450 because of the current market being low on comps. What did I know? I agreed and we proceeded. The home was appraised at nearly twice what he came in at and only 1 year ago. This clown comes in at $350k. He spent very little time noting all the custom work saying that appraisals are based on averages and not specifics??? I know the market has adjusted down but not 50%. I feel they should have been up front with me about the value they percieved before I wasted my $ on their process. I was totally up front with them and even showed John my 1 year old appraisal. They are the experts and should have stated that they felt there was no way they could make it work and that my home would be $400k less??? Beware of who you deal with when it comes the mortgaes. Stay away from these clowns.
