Highlands Insurance Company In Receivership
Notification letter of a sweepstakes award "santa's little sweepstakes"

Business & Finance

I received a check in the mail in the amount of Three Thousand Five Hundred Thirty Five Dollars; along with a letter with several number that I was told must be validated by December 24.

This was only a portion of the total winnings I had won. Through a ballot draw pool, of 55,097, 294 names mine had been chosen as the official winner. I was told I would not be asked to disclose any personal information, but must contact the claim center upon reciept of the letter and enclosed check at 1-438-275-9373. I must respond before Dec. 24. No time extensions would be allowed. I called and got a full mail box, sorry try back later.

Once a payment was made with this check for surcharges, taxes ect. To cover tax, and insrance for the balance transfer, because the winnings is bonded. After this was paid then the balance payment of SIXTY-NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS would be sent to me via courier or through a wire transfer to my account choice. (Here's what drew my attention to research more closely).

I was told that the information must be kept confidential and away from media to avoid fraud or abuse of unauthorized persons. Also sells me the idea that anyone doing so, or trying to collect this besides myself, would be prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law! I'm ready to believe this. My husband has been unemployed several months, bills are stacking up. I'm disabled and what I couldn't do with this kind of money. The processing agency will report my winning to such federal and state and local authorities for tax purposes which is required by law. All sounds ligit to me.

Then CONGRATULATIONS from all their members and staff. I smell a RAT! I think I'm being set up to be a mule. I have a call into the Bank, the routing number on the check is valid, I verified it, through the bank it is drawn on.

I have a call into them, but they will not return until Monday Dec. 22. Deadline is Dec 24th. I received this on Friday, Dec., 19 and did not begin any investagions until the bank had closed. I plan to give them the opportunity to respond before I claim this is not valid. I willl post any update ASAP as to the status of this "WINNINGS", or begin researching any civil lawsuits open.

Trust me, I PRAY IT"S FOR REAL. Until, beware. Of this one. Highland Insurance Company In Receivership has a complaint posted here, I read it, not near the money involved here, but I will allow them a chance to make it good. BEWARE! If this check is a fake it's the best I've even encountered.
