Playing dumb with hurricane Ike insurance money that isn't theirs

Like so many others we experienced significant damage to our home. At the time of Ike, our loan was with Popular Mortgage Svc. Out of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Our insurance company Foremost of Texas, did an excellent job of surveying the damage and providing us with the funding to make repairs. We submitted the insurance checks along with the required paperwork to the lender as requested. After repeated attempts to gain information from the mortgage company we were informed that the mortgage had been sold to Litton Loan of Houston, TX. All the paperwork was transferred and we would need to contact them.

We did contact Litton on or about the 15th of Nov. (as soon as we found out about the sale) and then submitted the required paperwork to them the 20th. We were told initially that it would be processed as soon as possible.

We heard nothing back from Litton, we decided to contact them again on Tuesday the 2nd of Dec. Only to be informed they "Never got the paperwork, please re-send it" Keep in mind it has been 2 1/2months since the storm, and the paperwork has been sent twice.

Wednesday the 3rd of December, I re-sent all the paperwork via usps overnight with signature requested (receipt number EH255229544US) which was delivered on Thursday Dec. 4th at 1021 A.M. Signed for by J. Mennah.

Today, Friday the 5th My wife contacted Litton only to first be told they did not receive it (she informed them otherwise). The next person she spoke with at the loss claims dept. Said "The mail department has it, they are really backed up."

We have since then notified our Houston attorney who is partnered with Terry Bryant, that we are going to nail the folks to the wall.
