They are trying to scam me out of money

I received several phone calls from this company. They did not want to provide much details other than the name of their company. I asked for a web address so I could check their website out and figure out what they do. The rep became very hostile and said he couldn't give me the information.

He kept trying to get me to confirm my contact information, social security number and other information. He already had the information which I thought was VERY unusual that they come out asking if XXXX is your social security number, XXX is your address. I didn't confirm anything until they told me the nature of their business. They asked for a payment and wouldn't tell me why.

I hung up on them.
