Individual claims to be a lawyer and is a collector who wants you to give personal information over the phone

The person (Mr. Smalls) calls our phone over and over again at home at all hours of the day and night and leaves harrassing messages on the answering machine referring to himself as an attorney.

He did call one time in the month of October stating that he needed to hear from my husband "IMMEDIATELY TODAY" before he made a final decision on our file.

I called him back, and he said that if I did not make a payment on the account that it would be on our credit report and the payment had to be made today. He made me think that he really was a lawyer that was pursuing my husband, so I made a payment. This is on a credit card that my husband had, not me. Then when I asked for a receipt to be mailed to me for my "electronic check", he and some lady that was with him on the line stated that they do not give receipts.

It turns out that he is NOT a lawyer, and in fact is a collection agency for Aspire Visa, whom my husband had an account with a couple of years ago, and is in dispute status with Aspire Visa. Still to this day I do not have my receipt and worst of all, I gave out our banking information to these people who cannot verify the debt or who they really are.
