PNC Bank
Rip off, fees

Business & Finance

It is the end of the month, so our bank account was a little low, but we had money in the bank and had just deposited a check for over 300 bucks on Friday evening. We were checking our account all weekend to make sure we didn't go over. According to the online banking, we hadn't. We ran into a situation where we had to fix our on Saturday which was an unexpected 200 bucks. We had that in the bank already without the check. So Monday my husband went to check the account and we had negative 120 bucks. They had charged us fees from the weekend even though we had the money/check to back it up. They are claiming that the check we put in that Friday was a "weekend transaction" and so I guess that gives them the right to charge us for ALL of our weekend transactions before they put our credits in. Remember the check went in Friday? The other stuff was purchased Saturday, Sunday etc. My husband went down to speak with a manager and they were very rude and unhelpful. On top of them saying that they wouldn't take the charges off (claiming it was not a bank error) they also stated that if they were to take them off, they couldn't right now anyways because the transactions are still pending... So they are charging us fees for transactions that haven't even been processed yet! This is the LAST time we do business with PNC. They are a total rip off and not trustworthy enough in my opinion to hold onto our money.
