Pathetic company took me on a wild goose chase

I wish I had come to this site before wasting an entire day of my time in Minnesota last week. I had just left my home town of San Francisco to move in with my boyfriend in Minneapolis. I jumped online and searched marketing jobs in the area. After posting my resume, a gal named Debra Lerew contacted me about her job with Twin City Events. I jumped at the opportunity as I love community work and thought this would be a great fit for me. From there, things went wrong.

Since I had never been to Minnesota, I was a bit nervous to navigate to Plymouth. I got my directions squared away and headed out. I was meant to meet with "Kelli" via Debra's email.in pressed attire and resume in hand, I finally found the building after many wrong turns and newcomer anxiety. I walked up to suite 130 and the doors were locked.

I asked a gentleman in suite 140 if there were another entrance to suite 130 and he laughed. "Why would you want to get in there?", he asked. I explained that I had an interview and he laughed even harder, "They moved out four days ago." Livid and confused, I got back in the car and dialed the designated phone number from the email. Sure it was Debra, but the recording did not allow for a voicemail to be left.

Long story short, I wrote a strongly worded email to Ms. Lerew asking for an explanation for the waste of my time and there was no response. I wrote one more and when that one was not responded to, I sought out a site like this one to share my story. Moral of the story: do your research before wasting your time with scamming companies. But Minnesota is quite beautiful ;)
