Watch out for Glacial Star Group

I received a call from this company on 10/7/08 at work. The women I spoke to was very rude and told me that they sent a letter to me in April. I told her that I never received a letter and refused to talk to her unless I received something in writing. She faxed me a letter stating that I they were collecting on an unpaid payday loan and requested that I call back to confirm receipt so they could start the process.

I wanted to do a little research first, but the women called me back and told me I had until noon to respond! I called the payday loan company that I supposedly owed money to. I gave the women my information and was told that my account was paid in full and I was not sent to collection.

I called Glacial Star Group back and told her that I spoke to the company and I do not owe any money and I was never sent to collections. She said well they would tell you that because they don't have this information. I told her that I had a confirmation number from when I paid the loan off. She told me that it didn't mean anything to her. I told her that I will get a letter from the company telling her that I do not owe them any money and that I was not sent to collections and will send it to her. She said well you have until noon tomorrow to get back to me.

I called the loan company and requested the letter and they told me that I took the loan out 2 years ago and if it was not paid they would have sent it to collections long before now.
