Total Benefits
Rip-off do not fall for unsecured credit card scam christ church

Business & Finance

After several calls over a 3 week period, I took a call from a Rep at Total Benefits stating that they have a credit card application that I filled out and need more information and a $198.50 processing fee to issue the card with a $1,000 credit limit. Because I did just complete an online application for a secured visa to rebuild my credit after filing bankruptcy, I thought it was legitimate. Even after answering several of my questions, the Rep assured me that I have guaranteed approval and my card will arrive within 14 day. Well let's just say that "something" arrived in exactly 14 days but it WASN'T a credit card. It was a couple sheets of paper with a "List" of banks/companies who offered credit cards to people with past credit problems with high startup fees and deposits.

I called the number they gave me to the customer service center to request a refund and was told that they have a recording of my authorization and in the message it was clearly advised that my "benefits package" will come in the mail. They state that in the recording, there is no mention of a credit card. Of course they don't tape the rest of the 60 minute conversation with all of the lies that they tell to get your money.

I am in the process of filing complaints with everyone I can think of and will be going to my bank to request a reversal. Even if I don't get my money back, I will definitely make sure that my complaints are heard by someone and the number of unexpecting innocent victims are limited and hopefully soon eliminated altogether.

Hope you all read this warning BEFORE it happens to you!!!
