Ripoff business fraud

This company called members platinum claimed to be a co. That helps to improve credit. They had all my personal info and said that i would recieve my package in a week. I got nothing. I called their 800 # back and got a unprofessional recording that said they were no longer offerring this promotion. I called the bank right away and made sure that they couldn't get into my account to rip me off. I never heard anything more from them. Now i recieved something from a co. Call consumer first offerring basically the same type of offer and they are both from tampa, fl. Is it just a coincidence or are these the same low lifes trying to rip people off using a different name?
