Fee based loan company

Applied for a loan. This company sent me an email. I responded to their call. Got a man named Aaron Burch on the phone. Said I did not qualify for a loan through the bank, but with a private lender. However to get this loan I would have to send them $2250.00 before the proceeds could be released. This was to be used as collateral on the loan. If I had an extra $2250 I wouldn't be applying for a loan. They give you 1 week to come up with the money. I checked with the BBB and this company has no rating. However it is illegal to ask for this type of money up front. Don't get caught in fee based loans. They are a scam and illegal.
