Transfer Error Cost Me Over $300.00!

I should have left Wachovia a long time ago, but they have screwed up my account so much that I cannot even go to another bank. I have had correspondence with the president in Charlotte, but to no avail. They don't make mistakes. The short list of what has happened since I have been with Wachovia: Twice put a hold on a CASH DEPOSIT resulting in checks being returned. Put a stop payment on my account for a stolen checkbook and returned 13 checks. I never put a stop payment on my account and never had my checkbook stolen.

Opened a new account and was told that anything on my old account would be paid out of the new account. Never happened. Everything that came into my old account was returned. A week later I became aware of the problem and it was up to me to send letters from Wachovia to all the returned check holders explaining what happened. This morning beats all.

My family has 3 checking accounts at Wachovia which my husband can transfer between. One is a small account for my son who is in college and not used very much. Last night my husband went in to transfer funds between his individual account and our joint account because of a large check I wrote off the joint account. This morning I noticed that I had $315.00 in OD charges and no deposit to my account. My husband checked his account to find that he had transferred into my sons account in error. The money was there, just in the wrong account.

When my husband called Wachovia to explain what happened he was told it was not their fault and we were stuck with the charges. It wasn't that we wrote checks for money that was not there, it was just put in the wrong account. They were not out any money. It was a simple fix to just move the money to the correct account. It did not matter to them and now we are out $315.00.

Sorry this is so long and full of frustation, but I did not know this site was here until this morning. I could have been venting here alll along.
