I recieved an E-mail from a credit card company website for bad credit persons who could rebuild there credit and get a $5,000 credit limit. So I went to it and it said it was backed by MasterCard, therefore I didn't think it was a scam. Yet I received the same letter that Juleigh did.
I was so excited that we had finally found a way to get out of hawk, that I got a cashiers check from the bank and sent it with the paper like it said. I sent it by two day mail from the Post Office with a signature receipt. So I could track on line.
It was the rush payment of $49 so I figured that it should take about three or four days to get here.By the fifth day it hadn't so I got out my reciept and went to look for the website on the search engine and Consumer First was no where to be found, but what popped up in it's place was the rip off site that had the "Robert Stevens Consumer First Scam Credit card" and then knew that I had been had.
I don't know if I was more disappointed becuase I had been had our finally knew that all we had hoped to get with the card was lost. (We have a baby on the way so we had some plans for the extra money we were going to have with the card.)
So then I contacted the rip off site to file my report and see what could be done to help our situation and others. I mean $49 doesn't sound like alot, but to a low income family with one spouse working and a baby on the way. It's a heck of alot of money.
