Offered $7,500 Loan, Then Told I Was Never Approved

I applied for a $9,000 loan with Citi Financial. My application was submitted to the 7600 W. Capitol branch. A nice woman called me right away the next morning and offered me a loan of $7,500 for a term of $250-300 a month.

I asked her if I could talk it over with my co-signer, and she said I could call her back. A few days later I decided to take the loan and left a message about it.

Someone other than the woman I talked to returned my phone call, saying nobody had approved me for a loan because I didn't have enough credit, although I do have perfect credit with what credit I do have. But that is not true. I absolutely was approved for a loan of $7,500 by someone at Citi Financial!

(Maybe they think I'm a liar about them wanting to give me a loan, which I am not, because I don't have enough credit.)

First they say I can have a loan, then they try to say I wasn't approved because I don't have enough credit. It is so frustrating with these loan companies. They won't give loans if you don't have enough credit, even if your credit is good, you have never had any problems, and you have paid all of your bills on time and in full and would continue to do so.

Why does not having enough credit, or your credit score, which for me is 750, determine whether or not you will pay your loan back?

Do they feel you are a bad person, or that you can't be trusted, or are they so afraid you won't pay your loan back if you don't have enough credit? That is ridiculous and insulting. How much income or credit must you have to satisfy these companies before they will give you a loan?

They act like we were asking for $90,000 and not just $9,000, which we could have paid back easily.

You know you can and will be able to pay your loan back, but still they only go by how much credit you have or how bad or good it is. That really isn't right or fair.

Having good credit is still not good enough to get a loan. I am so tired of these loan companies judging you by your credit or acting like you can't be trusted to pay back your loan, when you know you can and will, just because you don't have enough credit.

Do not go to this company for a loan. First they will say you can have one, then they will say you can't.
