Misrepresentation Debt Negotiation Nightmare

I feel its only right to alert people about the dangers in getting involved with debt negotiators who charge upfront fees. Just be very careful! I was nieve in thinking that this company was working to help us resolve our debts and was working with our creditors to negotiate a settlement. The entire time they were collecting their upfront fees of $10,000 they never put the stop to the nonstop phone calls and threats that were made to us via phone. We had legal action taken against us our bank account was frozen, a lien was slapped against our home. This was an unbelievable nightmare for me and my family and we are still recovering from the damage they caused us!!! We were never advised of our rights and because of the damage they caused us by not giving us full disclosure we had tax problems as well. It has taken us years to recover from this. The collection agencies had full reign and harassed us non stop calling my home, calling our jobs after being sent letters to stop, threatening me with law suits - telling me and my children they were going to call our Neighbors. They represented themselves as a full service company that would help us with the aftermath. Don't believe a word of it! Once they got our money they never once called us to see how we were doing!!! We had to constantly call them for help and they could not do anything to get the collection agency to remove their liens and unfreeze our bank account. Never in my life had I ever experienced something like this. It is a heartbreaking and helpless feeling let me tell you. They tell you not to talk to the collection agents and to send them letters but that does not protect you or prevent them from taking legal action against you. Furthermore, we had no idea that our rights were being violated - no one explains that to you or protects your rights at USFMGroup. Stay away from this company they are a predators who take your money first before they do any negotiating and it takes forever leaving you open to lawsuits and harassment. I wish we never got involved with these people!!!
