My husband found out in may he has throat cancer. I sent them a check for the electric but my check got there before the deposit. They are now punishing us and they won't let me log in to my acct i came home from the hospital one night and they had disconnected my electric with no notice!!! My 18 year old son loaned us the money and they charged us 225. Oo to turn it back on. This was about 2 weeks ago monday night i went home and there was this tiny little paper stuck in the door that i almost didn't see they told me if i did not give them 76.85 they were going to disconnect my service again!!! So i had to borrow 80. Oo from my other son. My husband called them from his hospital bed they were rude especially this lady named amy and said that it is their word against ours and they are sending us disconnect notices but that is a lie we have not received one disconnect notice but they are calling us liars they said they do not care if robert has cancer or not they will not work with us and if we don't pay our bill no matter if it is only 60.00 they will turn our electric off!!! Duke energy has never done this to us i have them for gas but unfortunately were we live we have to owen county for electric they are very mean and rude and they treat cancer patients and other customers this way all the time we are not the only ones this has happen to!!! I think something needs to be done with this co for discrimination and hateful uncaring employees!!! Please someone do something for us especially since my husband got cancer and i lost my job we don't have the money all the time to pay and these people will just turn your electric off regardless of your situation and for 60. Oo or 80.00 this is ridiculus!!! Also i have animals and that house was hot the night i went home and didn't have any electric!!! Please please do something abut this company we need help and compassion and they are rude nasty and mean especially amy she is very rude to customers!!! My husband is going to be out of work for quite sometime and money is very tight i think they should have a program especially for people with a bad sickness but they just don't care we can't keep borrowing from family and we are in a very financial mess i need my electric maybe somebody can talk since into them!!!
