Ripoff credit card scam $221.95 slime-ball

My husband awnsered the phone a few months ago and spoke with a rep for the lenox capital group. She offered him a credit card with a 2500 credit limit and with his bad credit he thought it would be a way to build credit again. She told him all he had to do was give her his bank acount info and she woud send a package in the mail which he would then sign and only THEN would the $221.95 one time fee go through.

He first agrreed to the service offered, and then consulted me and I told him it was a bad idea. He declined after realizing what a bad idea it was to give a stranger his info and she assured him that it would not go through without his written consent. Well, a couple of months later, we became overdrawn significantly and only after diligent searching online have we found this is a ridiculous scam.

He has gone to stop payment on the money, saying that it was unauthorized (which it was) and hopefully we will soon get this taken care of. If this has happened to you, call the Cobb County Sherrifs Dept @ (770) 499-3900 or fraud and forgery @ (770) 499-4655 They can help if anyone can.
