Unauthorized charge

I found a charge of $ 39.95 on my checking account statement. I went to my bank to get and received a number to call for follow up. I called talked to a woman named marilyn (probably not her real name) who would not state what the business supplied and would not discuss the account that was using credit card number or what it was i was charged for and in a very matter of factly voice too. I dont know how they got my card number but i will let my state better business bureau and attorney generals office know of the theft.
