Ripping off my mother for around 15 years

My mother has been receiving and sending back junk competition lottery offers from this company for around 15 years. She is now 83 and still hopes to claim that big prize and solve all our family money problems. I was sent one of her entries by mistake (she is old and sent me a letter with the entry enclosed). There was around $150 in cheques for entry fees in that letter. My mother is on a limited budget, but has spent so much time entering this competition, that she believes her turn must soon come and she will win. She is probably spending at least 100 NZ per month on this fruitless exercise in what appears to be callous extortion.

Her details have been sent on, it seems, to other scam lotteries, and while I was last visiting (she lives in New Zealand and I live in Europe) there were 4 such scams in the post for her on one day, all asking for money in return for a large win.

I would like to insert the juml mail my mother has received over the years into the fundament of any executive of this company who is making money from the hopeful and desperate elderly. My mother is in full possession of her faculties but is stubborn and proud and completely unwilling to believe that she is being scammed, as she regards herself as an astute businesswoman (she was that about 50 years ago).

Anything you can do to help will be good. If you are reading this and your parent is being scammed, try to do what you can to intercept the ghastly rubbish and send it back. You may feel terrible about writing 'deceased' on the mail, but that may mean there's a chance they won't write back.
