The trust company of ripoff

We purchased a van in January of 1996. We had been making payments on the van. We did not always pay ontime but made every attempt to keep the payments going. We got down to where we only had 5 payments left and then the van was ours. I'm not saying we aren't at some fault but to only have 5 payments left, come on.

They repossed the van, sold it at a private auction and now want us to pay $2900.00 but will not give the van back. They lied to our family about why they needed info on us. They have put a judgement against us and now we are having a hard time trying to buy a house.
